Silver Cup 2012 will continue on Thursday with two attractive matches
Zedan Polo and Bin Drai won their respective games in a double match day for the Silver Cup 2012
Zedan Polo beat Ghantoot by 6-5 and Bin Drai, with the same score, won his match against Rhinos in Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club.
In the first polo match of the day, Amr Zedan´s team, with another great game of Nachi Heguy, added his second victory in the tournament.
Zedan Polo had to work hard to beat Ghantoot Polo and it was in the last chukker when they finally broke free.
Nachi Heguy and Ramiro Cordero opened the match, with a goal each for their respective teams.
In the second chukker both teams charged back into a stop action with goal opportunities for both teams.
First was Zedan Polo with another goal from Heguy, quickly replied by Ghantoot patron Nasser Al Dhaheri for a final 2-2.
The third period had a similar result, Nachi Heguy and Cordero showing the best skills of each of their teams.
And so the last chukker started with an even score of 4-4. Two goals by Rodolfo Ducos, one of them with a fantastic neck shot from the sideline, made the difference between both teams and took Zedan Polo to a 6-5 victory.
Bin Drai Polo vs Rhinos
Bin Drai Polo and Rhinos closed the day with a hard fought game that had Juanjo Brane scoring four of the six goals in the 6-5 victory to Bin Drai.
Rhinos took the lead quickly in the first chukker with a 3-1 score, two by Agustín Lorea and one by Manuel Fernández Llorente.
Bin Drai made a great come back in the second chukker having Brane as the top scorer in this period that ended 3-3.
The third chukker showed us the best performance from the Rhinos Team with Fernandez Llorente and Lorea adding two new goals that put them back on top with a 5-3 lead.
Bin Drai Polo got their best play in the last chukker cutting the lead of Rhinos with 3 consecutive goals, two by Brane and one from Tomás Iriarte, that gave them a hard fought victory, 6-5.
The Silver Cup 2012 will continue on Thursday with two attractive matches, at 2.30 pm, Zedan Polo will return to action playing against Mahra Polo and at 4 pm Abu Dhabi and Habtoor Polo will close the day.
