A study released recently by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry says that food prices soared at restaurants in Dubai over the last two years.

It added that the inflation rate at restaurants’ sector in UAE was up 5.4 per cent in 2006- less than general inflation rate of 9.3 per cent in the same period. The inflation rate at restaurants’ sector surged to 15.1 per cent in 2007, but dropped to 7.3 per cent in the first quarter of this year.
