Public and private schools in the UAE will be closed from December 2 to 11, 2008, on account of Eid Al Adha and National Day, announced the Ministry of Education on Monday, reported Gulf News.
Classes will be resumed after the holidays on December 14, 2008.
The holidays will be compensated for at the end of the academic year, said the ministry statement.
Rashid Lakraibani Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Ministry of Education, said: “The ministry took this decision after proper study and consultations with education councils and education zones and in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education.”
