World’s first online hospital management system and patient records system launched at Arab Health
The world’s first fully integrated online hospital management system, which improves the day to day running of hospitals and the way patient information is stored and accessed, will be unveiled at Arab Health 2009.
Unveiled at the largest healthcare technologies in the Middle East, UK Company Meddserve will also be launching a revolutionary online medical records service, which allows patients to access their own medical records, dating back from the day they were born.
Both systems – Medsystem Online (designed for healthcare professionals to run healthcare institutes) and Medrecord Online (the online health record designed for patients) – work seamlessly together; offering a valuable online service and a unique way of accessing data.
Medsystem online – The Medsystem online service runs the functions of a hospital such as patient appointments, shift patterns, patient’s results such as blood tests, fully integrated PACS (X-rays, scans ultrasound), bed admissions, referrals to specialists and also telemedicine. The built in referral system and messaging means that there is no chance of losing data and no confidentiality can be broken.
Medrecord Online – Medrecord Online is an online health record system, which stores people’s medical history, allowing individuals to access and control their own health records; whenever they want to, where ever they are in the world.  Each person carries a Medcard, this is a ‘dumb card’ with a unique number on it allocated to a person with a bar code on the back. No data is stored on the card so it can be lost without consequence and is cheap to replace yet can save a person’s life.
What is unique about Medsystem and Medrecord Online is that they offer a service, rather than a software package, which means hospitals, will never have to worry about upgrading the software
Easy to use and offering 100% data protection and security, all users have to do is log-in and access the information they are looking for. The technology is brand new to the healthcare world and offers a revolutionary solution; transforming the way healthcare data is stored and accessed.
Both systems use the latest cutting edge technology and are currently being used in India.
Medsystem and Medrecord Online have been developed by Dr James Britton, who has a background in designing IT systems for genetic research, as well as valuable specialist experience.

The online systems will be on display at the exhibition, which takes place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 26th to 29th January.
