Funds to support relief work in Gaza
Emaar Hospitality Group has joined hands with ‘A Helping Hand,’ the charity group at The American School of Dubai, to host a fund-raising dinner for Medecins Sans Frontières (MSF). The annual event, ‘Dinner on the Greens’ will be held on May 30, 2009 at The Montgomerie, Dubai.
Last year, the dinner raised AED 225,000 in aid of people in Kenya and Palestine. This year’s fund-raising will support relief work in Gaza, and will feature two components – a sponsored 18-hole golf tournament and a gala dinner overlooking the greens of The Montgomerie Golf Course.
Mr. Marc Dardenne, Chief Executive Office, Emaar Hospitality Group and Emaar Hotels & Resorts said: “A Helping Hand is one of the model charity organisations led by students and through this event they are not only contributing to society but also further strengthening their personal development and societal commitment. Emaar Hospitality Group is privileged to partner with such a noble initiative that touches the lives of people across geographies.â€
Eighty-five percent of proceeds raised from the event at The Montgomerie, Dubai will go to humanitarian and medical assistance work in Gaza, and the rest will be contributed to the general emergency fund of MSF.
The gala dinner costs AED 250 per ticket and reservations can be made through The Montgomerie, Dubai at +971 4 390 5600 or via email on info@themontgomerie.ae.
