Exhibition hosted by the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilisation
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, will inaugurate the exhibition entitled “Eternal letters: from the Abdul Rahman Al Owais Islamic Calligraphy Collection, Sharjah†on Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization will host the exhibition in collaboration with the Bank of Sharjah from April 29 to September 26, 2009. The exhibition will include more than 90 Islamic calligraphy artworks that represent an important era of Islamic history.
Manal Ataya, Director General, Sharjah Museums Department, said: “The exhibition is organised as part of our efforts to develop the cultural, artistic and heritage identity of Sharjah. It will focus on Islamic calligraphy, which is one of the defining elements of Islamic civilization.â€
