Having captured one third of the hotel awards, the brand won ‘Best New Business Hotel in the Middle East’ by InterContinental Dubai Festival City, ‘Best Business Hotel in Jeddah’ by InterContinental Jeddah, for the second year running and InterContinental Phoenicia Beirut, IHG’s first venture in to the Middle East in 1961, won the award for ‘Best Business Hotel in Beirut’, for the seventh consecutive year.

The Business Traveller Middle East Awards are an important recognition of achievement, awarding exceptional levels of quality and service in the travel industry within the Middle East region.  Voted for by business travellers across the Middle East, the awards cover a range of travel categories, including best hotels, airlines and airports.

“Business travel represents a substantial part of the industry. It is a sustainable and steadily growing segment and a key feeder to this region. As hoteliers we need to build our packages and services around today’s travellers, who are much more savvy and are differentiated primarily by their attitudes towards travel rather than by basic demographics. InterContinental offers superior services and amenities, while providing authentic local experiences that enhance a guest’s stay,” said John Bamsey, chief operating officer, InterContinental Hotels Group.

“InterContinental Hotels and Resorts is an internationally well known brand with a strong global footprint, enabling our loyal customers to experience the brand anywhere in the world. Regionally, our strength is mirrored with our current system of 31 hotels and resorts and a further ten in the pipeline. Our recent recognition at the awards verifies our unique offering, system size and scale are the key factors that influence a business traveller choice of hotel.”
