Under the Sponsorship of  H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region, President of Abu Dhabi University Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Emirati German Friendship Society, three ADU Emirati students from the College of Business Administration-Finance and Accounting,  traveled on July the 20th to start an internship program with Siemens-Germany for a period of six weeks until 29 August 2009.
H.E. Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, Abu Dhabi University Chairman of the Executive Board, praised the generous sponsorship of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which gives ADU students an early opportunity to experience the work environment, helping them to benefit from this unique learning experience while developing skills in finance, communication, public relations and networking. He also said that this unique opportunity will enable ADU students to network with German companies, banks, and financial institutions, learning about the latest operational methods in finance and accounting, and share their learning experiences with their colleagues.
Bin Harmal added that this opportunity constitutes a platform for cultural and intellectual exchange between the UAE and Germany, enhancing friendship amongst the two nations. He also noted that the students will benefit immensely from this internship program and gain experience in the fields of finance while working at the one of the most esteemed and elite international companies such as Siemens.
Dr. Nabil Ibrahim, the ADU Chancellor, pointed out that the internship programs were designed to focus on the development of the students’ leadership skills, ensuring that they gain professional experiences which will promote their academic and scientific understanding. The program includes visits to several successful German companies, banks and financial organizations.
