User-friendly interface, new online services at core of pro-customer website
The Department of Economic Development (DED) recently unveiled the new website of the Dubai business community designed to improve public access to business-related information and procedures. The new digital website is the first of many steps planned for the near future to improve the business community’s interaction with the Department.
The DED website, accessible at www.dubaided.gov.ae, now has a clearer look, intuitive navigation and starting points featuring focused content for specialized users. The site is based on a new content management system, built to allow DED divisions to publish up-to-date information faster and more efficiently.
The new website is part of the Department’s commitment to provide the highest level of services and facilities to the emirate’s business community and is an example of its continuous investment in technological improvements, department sources said.
“The DED has always believed in adapting to changing technology and has achieved considerable success in providing high-quality online services for its customers,†said Khalid Al Kassim, Deputy Director General for Planning and Development, DED. “We are now trying to amplify our customer- focused approach, by providing more value-added services and offering easier access to crucial information in real time.â€
The DED’s IT Executive Director, Abdulla Hassan, said the department adopted the highest international standards and latest available secure technologies in launching its new website. “The new design will provide a high-tech interactive platform for our stakeholders and ensure their needs are met and queries answered promptly and accurately,†he said.
The retooled website also offers concise information about DED services, links to its core agencies – the Dubai Shopping Festival Office, the Export Development Corporation, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders, and Foreign Investment Office. Feedback forms on the site also encourage visitors to express their views and share suggestions with DED officials.
DED has recently unveiled two new eServices on its website – to reserve and renew trade names.
