Luxury lifestyle provider Damac Properties has awarded three more contracts for work to begin on site at projects in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Enabling works contracts have been awarded for the company’s Harbour Heights project in Abu Dhabi and at its Suburbia development at Downtown Jebel Ali while the enabling works contract at Damac Heights has restarted.
The contract for Harbour Heights has been awarded to National Dewatering and Drainage Services and commencement of work on site will mark the third project that Damac Properties has under way in Abu Dhabi following on from enabling works already in progress at its Marina Bay and Oceanscape developments in the city.
Harbour Heights is located on Al Reem Island at Marina Rise overlooking the waterfront. It is one of the few residential towers in a prime business district and will be an ideal location for those working in the area. At 41 storeys tall, the tower will offer a range of apartments from studios up to three bedrooms along with duplexes on the higher floors.
Commenting on the awarding of the Harbour Heights contract Ziad El Chaar, General Manager Operations of Damac Properties, said:
“We are pleased to see work commencing on site at a third project for Damac Properties in Abu Dhabi. Harbour Heights will offer a great location for residents and combines an iconic design with state of the art leisure and recreational facilities. Its position at the heart of a business district means that a balance of working and relaxation can be easily combined.”
In addition to this contract, a second enabling works order has been issued to National Piling for the company’s Suburbia project in Dubai at Downtown Jebel Ali.
Suburbia is a combination of apartments and town houses based on Moroccan style architecture. The project will be located at the heart of the new Downtown Jebel Ali area with shops and restaurants nearby and with easy access to the new Metro stations.
Work is due to commence shortly and will include site clearance, shoring and foundation preparation and excavation.
Mr Chaar added: ‘It is pleasing to see that another enabling works contract has been awarded for the first of our projects to get under way at Downtown Jebel Ali.
“We are continuing to award enabling contracts for a number of our projects across Dubai whilst construction progresses at our more established sites. This combination is helping to demonstrate that we are moving forward on all levels as a company and that we are keeping our focus on construction and delivery.”
At Damac Heights in the Dubai Marina, Zetas has restarted works following a short delay due to redesign. 19 metres of diaphragm wall has been constructed and work is ongoing.
Mr Chaar concluded “With these latest contracts we have now awarded seven contracts over the past three months. This is testament that the focus for 2009 and 2010 at Damac Properties is firmly on construction and delivery.”
