Up to 7,000 learners, parents, educators expected to attend two-leg event in Dubai and Manama

GETEX Autumn, the education show offering students access to universities enrolling students for early 2010, has announced that more than 250 academic programs from over 50 participating universities will be offered during the education fair’s two-stop itinerary in the GCC. GETEX Autumn kicks off at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre from October 27 to 29, 2009, with the second leg to be held at the Diplomat Radisson SAS Hotel in Manama, Bahrain from October 31 to November 2, 2009.

GETEX Autumn is a free-to-visit event that reaches out to learners, educators and trainers in its mission to promote excellence in the education sector. More than 7,000 participants are expected to attend GETEX Autumn, while a variety of academic and vocational courses, scholarships, counselling sessions, seminars and workshops have been lined up for the event.

Anselm Godinho, Managing Director, International Conferences & Exhibitions (IC&E), organisers of the event, said, “We are witnessing a growing demand for world-class academic programs by students across the GCC. Given this scenario, GETEX Autumn aims to offer students an integrated event where they can find the academic option of their choice and also the expert guidance to make the right decision. Moreover, the event will provide a consolidating platform that will enable all concerned parties to interact and mutually benefit from the region’s expanding academic requirements.”

Aside from hundreds of academic options from leading universities, GETEX Autumn also offers advice on rules and regulations for those who want to study in the UK, Canada, USA, Australia and other countries. In addition, GETEX Autumn features two key segments: Excellence in Engineering Forum and Student Counselling Sessions.

Excellence in Engineering Forum gathers graduating engineers and technical students who will interact and discuss career challenges and opportunities with experienced industry professionals, decision-makers and recruiting firms. Student Counselling Sessions, organised in cooperation with Counselling Point, will feature local education experts and counsellors who will discuss issues relevant to regional learners, including advantages and disadvantages of enrolling in the Spring term, new rules for securing a British student visa, Australian admissions, pros and cons of studying in the UAE, procedures for securing admission in institutions abroad, vocational courses locally available, financial planning to realise educational goals, Canadian education and the possibilities, importance of internships and understanding individual potential.

GETEX Autumn Dubai is supported by silver sponsor Hindustan University and bronze sponsor EDHEC Business School, while patrons of GETEX Autumn Bahrain include diamond sponsor Bahrain Polytechnic, gold sponsor Ahlia University, and bronze sponsors Hindustan University and EDHEC Business School.
