Following the successful roll out of government training contracts, the Institute for Vocational Development – a division of Abu Dhabi University Knowledge Group dedicated to providing a range of internationally accredited vocational training programmes – has become the largest provider of BTEC programs in the region with over 3000 UAE Nationals registering on a variety of courses.
Demand for the courses, which equip nationals with a broad range of skills deemed essential by employers worldwide, has been particularly high in subjects such as; Employability, Business Studies, Business Administration, Health and Social care, Media, Travel and Tourism, Quality and Customer Services.
The rise to become the largest BTEC provider in the region has been rapid with courses only starting at the Institute some 18 months ago. Richard Firth Director of the Institute said, “We are delighted to have become the largest BTEC provider in the UAE, and to have reached this position in such a short time, is a remarkable feat that we are all very proud of. This has certainly put us on the UAE map, and built on our reputation as a credible vocational providerâ€.
On the back of this success the Institute is planning to offer more vocational programs to cater for the UAE employment markets needs, and has recently launched an open program portfolio of short courses to provide BTEC certification to a wider audience.
