DED hosts Job and Administrative Supremacy Competition to honour distinguished employees

MBRE wins distinguished government entity in promoting national identity

DED honored winnersHis Excellency Mr Sami Al Qamzi, Director General, Department of Economic Development (DED), honoured the distinguished staff recognised at the Job and Administrative Supremacy Competition 2009 launched by the Corporate Quality and Development Division to strengthen staff performance and encourage the employees to exert more efforts at work.

The initiative comes in line with DED’s commitment to provide a supportive environment for personal growth and human resource development by identifying and nurturing employees who make valuable contributions to the overall improvement of DED’s services to auditors and clients.

“DED is committed to enhancing the performance and productivity of employees, and we undertake an annual evaluation of the performance of our staff as they play a vital role in the overall performance of the department. The competition comes in line with the aspirations and vision of Dubai Government to invest in human resources, which is central in driving the emirate’s development,” said Mr Al Qamzi.

The Corporate Quality and Development Division launched the third cycle of Job Supremacy Competition 2009 early this year adding one new category; the Distinguished Department in promoting national identity.

The criteria of the Job Supremacy Competition 2009 included performance & achievement, initiative & creativity, cooperation & commitment, teamwork and responsibility. The employees honoured were: Saeed Mohamed (Distinguished Technical Employee) from Dubai Export Development Corporation (EDC); Fatma Ibrahim Maala (Distinguished Female Employee) from the Strategy & Planning Division, DED; Nader Sabri (Distinguished Specialised Employee) from Foreign Investment Office; Fatma Al Ghanim (Distinguished Administrative Employee) from EDC; Nada Nader (Distinguished Executive Employee) from Administrative Affairs Division, DED; Ahmed Mohamed (Outstanding new staff member) from EDC and Ibrahim Taher (Distinguished Field Employee) from Commercial Compliance and Consumer Protection Division, DED.

The criteria of the Administrative Supremacy Competition included Distinguished Technical project, which was won by the E-commerce Surveillance Remarks Exchange Among Government Departments project presented by DED’s Commercial Compliance and Consumer Protection Division and IT Division, and Distinguished Teamwork was won by the team involved in developing the International Index to Start a Business report (2009-2010).

The distinguished department in promoting national identity was won by The Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development for committing to the use of the Arabic language, emiratisation and promoting national culture within the establishment.
