New Program to Enhance Communication and Friendly Spirit among Employees

Hur logo The Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development today launched ‘Hur’, an in-house initiative which is aimed at strengthening the means of communication and friendly spirit among the establishment’s employees.

Hur is an ambitious step which reflects the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development commitment to spread knowledge, and enhance communication and team spirit among its employees.

Commenting on this initiative, Rafat Rudwan Wahbeh, Chair Person of the Hur Initiative, said: “We are pleased to launch this inclusive, friendly initiative which aims to develop an idyllic work environment for everyone at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development, because our employees are our most valuable asset as an organization.”

Rafat Rudwan WahbehHur is built around programs that combine entertainment with work to help develop creative skills and stimulate innovative thinking. The initiative covers a host of activities that enhance communication with the public sector and support community and cultural initiatives. The program incorporates interactive activities for employees during public festivals and holidays including Eid and National Day, and also features an annual ceremony, traditional contests, and educational seminars, as well as trips to destinations across the UAE. Hur also aims to make life easier for those working at MBRE – by providing free car parking for all staff for example.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development enjoys an open relationship with everyone who works with us. Hur is all about our people at MBRE and is focused on inclusion and innovation. We believe that by involving everyone in different activities and events, we can rise to challenges and solve problems more effectively – both at work and in our communities,” Rafat added.

Hur is sponsored by Al Habtour Valtrans, member of the Mohammed Bin Rashed Est. for SME Development Government Procurement Program (GPP), in addition to Al Maidan Property and Real Estate.

The initiative is named after the falcon ‘Hur’, which is well known for its sharpness and power. Hur is an Arabic name for freedom embodied by the bird’s character. Hur is one of the main falcons used for hunting in the UAE. Falconry has been a traditional Arab sport for 2,000 years ago and has been passed down through the generations; it depends on patience and partnership between the bird and the falconer.

The Hur team is made up of a group of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development including Raafat Rudwan Wahbeh, Chair Person of the initiative; Nisreen Safar, Vice Chair Person; Ibtihal Naji, Financial Affairs; Ahmed Ibrahim, External Relations; Yousef Loutah, Public Relations; and Dr. Marouane Trimeche and Yousef Baker, Creativity Department.

About Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Small and Medium Size Enterprises:

In September 2009, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President & Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai issued Law No.23 of 2009 concerning the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME development, recently renamed the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders. The new law confirms the commitment of Dubai Government to support the development of SMEs sector.

The law defines the goals and responsibilities of the establishment. Given that SMEs include 98.5% of registered business in Dubai, with 61% of the work force working in this sector. The law aims to strengthen Dubai’s position as a centre for entrepreneurship and enterprise development based on innovation and intellectual property.
