Dubai telecom firm du announced on Monday that all international calls made on New Years Day will be charged at its off-peak rate.
Customers will also only be charged 15 fils per SMS message to a UAE number instead of 18 fils, and 45 fils to an international number instead of 60 fils.
The off-peak charges all to all international calls made from mobile and fixed lines on New Year’s Day, the firm said in a statement.
“We would like to wish the residents of the UAE a prosperous New Year. In times of such celebration we want to give all du customers a reason to celebrate with their friends and family both locally and abroad by offering all-day off peak international calling rates and special national and international SMS rates,†said Farid Faraidooni, EVP Commercial, du.
