H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai today announced the new oil discovery in Dubai stressing that the discovery will contribute and provide in strengthening the economic capacities of the state along with increasing UAE s oil production.
In addition to other positive impacts that will give a strong impetus to all sectors of the local economy and provide a new source of income enhancing the comprehensive development of Dubai.
This came during the meeting held between H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum today with a number of sheikhs, Ministers and a group of dignitaries that took place just before the Cabinet meeting.
He announced the good news congratulating UAE citizens with this important discovery. He also stated that this field is located east of “Rashid” field.
His Highness assigned the task of the exploration and prospecting of the discovered field to HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Oil Affairs Department in Dubai along with carrying out all the necessary field researches to make sure of the size of oil reserves and define the possible energy production for the new field in the short and long term also to use all expertise and latest technical equipment necessary to confirm the economic benefits of the field as soon as possible.
Moreover, Sheikh Mohammed expressed his satisfaction with the performance of the Oil Affairs Department , which mainly contributed in achieving this new discovery. He also demanded to double the work to achieve the best possible use of the existing oil resources in Dubai, as well as potential discoveries and employ those resources in support of UAE economic capabilities.
