Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Award receives 152 researches

The Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences has received 152 researches from 27 countries to participate in the forthcoming 3rd Pan Arab Human Genetics Conference scheduled in Dubai on 13 and 14 March 2010.

On February 18th, participating researches will be announced by the Award, organizers of the conference said on Sunday, the deadline set for submitting applications.

24 researches were received from UAE, 19 from Saudi Arabia and 12 from Egypt were received by the Centre for Arab Genomic Studies (CAGS), an affiliate of the Award. Other applications were received from researchers from USA, France, Canada and Bulgaria.

Topics to be discussed by the conference include Genetic Linkage, Screening, and Testing in Orphan and Complex Disorders , Prevention Programs (Newborn Screening, Prenatal Diagnosis, Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis), Health Informatics (Birth Defect Registries, Disease/Locus-Specific Databases), Novel Emerging Technologies (Clinical Genomics, Proteomics, and Pharmacogenomics), Economic Determinants of Genomic Applications, Genomic Research Ethics, Governance Challenges and Regulations Clinical Case Presentation (for the Open Clinic Session in Day 2)
