Shopping has never been this more rewarding…and stylish, thanks to an ongoing promotion at Mall of the Emirates during Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) period.
Every year during DSF, Mall of the Emirates comes up with a superlative promotion that captures every shopper’s imagination. This year, guess what’s at stake? A stunning villa in charming Tuscany, a luxury sports car or a private yacht, each worth AED2,000,000.
Even in promotion savvy Dubai, prizes like this do not come very often. For many who aspire to living the lifestyle of the rich and famous, all roads lead to Mall of the Emirates during the festival season. The promotion actually covers Deira City Centre as well, the other mall in Majid Al Futtaim Properties’s portfolio of shopping centres. Majid Al Futtaim Properties is a key sponsor of DSF 2010.
All it takes is a shopping spend at any of the combined 800 retail stores in the two malls, and a bit of good luck – well, quite a lot to be truthful, considering the average footfall in Mall of the Emirates during the festival period is close to 100,000 daily, based on last year’s figures. That could easily have gone up, given that the mall has one of the busiest stops on the Red Line of Dubai’s flashy new metro.
“To be honest, it’s one of the reasons why I am shopping here. It’s an awesome promotion, and who knows, I may just win a luxury sports car or a private yacht. It would be nice to have one of those around while living in Dubai,†said Mohammed, who figures he might as well do his shopping in MoE since he is going to spend money anyway.
The big promotion is no doubt an attraction, but it’s not what lures people to MoE. The lifestyle of a lifetime is just as evident in the shopping and leisure offers of the mall. And this was the case for Ahmed and his family, visitors from Jordan, who chose to come to Dubai for DSF because the “atmosphere and ambiance in Dubai during DSF is amazing.â€
According to Ahmed, the people here are nice and warm, and the shopping experience is really great. “It’s a step up from all the shopping centres I’ve seen anywhere in the Middle East, especially Mall of the Emirates where you have a snow park. It’s a perfect holiday treat for my family,†he added.
With anchor stores like Harvey Nichols and H&M; and the biggest luxury brands such as Gucci, Chanel, and Armani, among others, a shopping trip to MoE is akin to a shopping adventure to renowned shopping districts such as Rodeo Hills or Champs Élysées.
“It certainly is a world-class shopping experience,†said Christine, a tourist from Europe. “The prices are competitive and the tax free incentive makes it a bit more indulging to shop, especially the big fashion brands.â€
