Emerald Palace, a leading Dubai-based Ukrainian property developer, will complete the handover of residential property at the development by the end of next month. But the opening of the adjoining Emerald Palace Kempinski, a 250-room hotel, will be delayed by almost two years.
Emerald Palace Kempinski, in which Emerald Palace has invested $70m and was due to open late last year, will now open at the end of next year. The delay is mainly due to the arrival of competition from other hotels on Palm Jumeirah, such as the Atlantis, The Palm. Construction work on Emerald Palace’s two other ventures in Dubai with the Kempinski hotel chain, one on the Palm Jebel Ali and the other at Business Bay, has been also delayed until market conditions improve.
Emerald Palace Kempinski features a five-star resort hotel set within grounds covering almost 100,000 square metres located on the crescent of Palm Jumeirah. The two, seven-storey classically styled buildings are shaped like a European palace with Arabic details and situated within meticulously landscaped gardens.
Kempinski Emerald Palace will offer extremely large guest rooms exceeding 55 square metres, each with a balcony and/or terrace overlooking the Gulf.
Set within the same grounds, Kempinski Palm Jumeirah Residences will enjoy the same facilities and 200 exclusive residences. Homes range in size from 165 to 1,300 square metres and include two, three and four bedroom apartments, magnificent penthouses, gracious townhouses with private pools and gardens, and a number of grand villas. More than 240 residential units were sold as part of the US$500 million (Dh1.83 billion) project at the peak of Dubai’s property boom between 2007 and 2008.
Residents and guests will be able to enjoy the personalised, deluxe services for which Kempinski is renowned. These include a dedicated concierge, free valet parking, and 24-hour housekeeping and room service. Amenities also include a children’s day care centre, business centre, state-of-the-art spa with indoor pool, high-tech gymnasium, several themed restaurants and bars, including a rooftop bar.
The hotel will boast a snooker room and cinema, an international shopping arcade, and access to the private beach stretching more than 500 metres. Additionally, a 600 square metre ballroom with window fronts overlooking gardens can accommodate meetings/conferences, as well as weddings and other private celebrations.
