The Sheikh Zayed Private Academy in Abu Dhabi held its annual Open House and School in Action Day last week. Both events were outstanding successes, with many parents and community members visiting the stunning facility.
The Sheikh Zayed Private Academy, celebrating its 10th year, is a prestigious school which provides an international education based on an American Curriculum for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12, (boys from K- 3.) The Academy supports a fully-rounded and holistic program, underpinned by the promotion of the UAE’s cultural values. Students are encouraged to take on leading roles in society and become an integral part of the wider global community. The facilities of the Academy rank among the finest in the UAE and are complemented with exceptional learning resources. The Academy is proud of having achieved full accreditation this year with CIS (Council of International Schools) and NEASC (New England Council of Schools and Colleges.)
The Open House boasted halls and classrooms rich with vibrant student projects, writing, art, presentations and more. Students displayed evidence of their learning and guests were impressed by their confidence, creativity, knowledge, and skills. A team of smiling students welcomed guests and eagerly directed them on tours of the campus.
Community service is a key component of life at Sheikh Zayed School and all students are expected to give to their community. At the Open House the SZPA MSF Community Service Club hosted a gigantic used book fair and all proceeds from the sale went to MSF (Doctors without Borders.) Also calendars and note cards, showcasing Grade 4 and 5 students’ artwork, were sold with all proceeds going to the Red Crescent and Special Care Centre.
