A specialized trade show for the kids’ fashion industry, called ‘Kids in Fashion & Style’ will be firstly held in Seoul in May. Celebrating its first launching in Korea, KIFS organizing committee decided to have the Kids Fashion Award-Asia to encourage and reward children’s wear and accessories fashion brands in recognition of their excellent designs and outstanding contribution to the overall improvement and development of the children’s fashion industry.
The application for nomination was opened for 1 month from 15th February to 15th March 2010 where a number of kids fashion brands from all over the world applied with great enthusiasm looking for brand recognition and a chance to start positioning themselves in the Korean and Asian market. The winner receives a complimentary spot at the KIFS brand fashion show, including free travel and hotel to KIFS plus exhibit space.
Among the candidates, the Cashmere KIDS introduced a diverse collection of cashmere children’s wear from Mongolia and was selected as the Winner of Best Fashion Brand.
Head of the judging panel, Paul Wilson, executive director of the INDEX Conferences & Exhibitions Organisation Est. explained: “We are delighted to have selected Cashmere Kids as the 2010 winner of best fashion brand. Only in the kids market for one year now, Cashmere kids have already demonstrated a talent for practical and innovative eye catching kids’ clothes. Using local materials, they have created a modern collection using traditional products and conceptsâ€.
Among the kids fashion accessory brands, the Ajo Bebe, USA handmade accessories brand for moms and babies, was selected as the Winner of Best Fashion Accessories. Judges praised Ajo Bebe for their unique vintage inspired fabrics and its practicality. Paul Wilson added: “We are delighted to have selected Ajo Bebe as the 2010 winner of best fashion accessories. This striking collection of both practical and chic accessories looks good in relaxed and formal settings. Designed by mothers who are seeking style and cool for both mother and baby these accessories become part of dressing up while offering comfort and safetyâ€.
