Kevin Retierer of Austria triumphed over Omar Abdullah Al Rashid and Chris Wilkinson in an amazing Pro Ski round and the UAE’s Nadir Bin Hendi scooped an easy winners ticket ahead of Rashid Suhail Al Tayer and Khalifa Bel Salah in the Runabout Super Stock. Kuwait took all the honours in the Runabout Stock with Mohamed Ebrahim Bu Rabie’s coming first followed by Mohammed Jasem Al Baz and Yousef Al Abdel Razzak. The Junior Ski class saw young Saif Mohammed Al Ma’asam first, then Shamis Rashid Hamad Al Shamsi with third place going to Abdullah Nadir Bin Hendi. Omar Abdullah Al Rashid won the Ski Limited, with Hamdan Rashid Al Qubaisi, second and Rashid A Al Owais third.

Seven nations in total took part in the Dubai Jet Ski Race in Mina Seyahi organized by Dubai International Marine Club this weekend. The race was the second heat in Dubai but forms part of the overall six race Championships with the final in May.

For entertainment value the ‘free style’ category stands alone as the racers can display acrobatic jumps and summersaults on their skis and are awarded points by the judges. Ivan Potanin from Russia won first place for his display followed by Mohamed Saeed Al Rumaithi and Khalid Mohd. Rashid Al Rumaithi both from the UAE.

Trophies were after presented after the race by Rais Al Mur, Chairman of the Jet Ski Committee, Mohammed Hareb, DIMC Race Director and Nassar Al Dhaheri, Abu Dhabi International Marine Sailing Club. The next Dubai Jet Ski round will be held on May 15th at DIMC.
