Asia Tent International (ATI), a leading manufacturer of clear-span, tensile and architectural structures, has set up operations in the UAE to support increasing demand for outdoor events across the Middle East.

With an event portfolio that includes Olympic, Commonwealth and Asia Games, ATI brings to the region unmatched experience in the design and build of structures for international sporting events and tourist event destinations. The company is also in talks with several leading hotel brands to become their preferred partner for outdoor functions.

Established in Malaysia in 1992, ATI is now active in 12 international markets supplying temporary and permanent structures for large-scale events. With an experienced team of in-house designers and engineers ATI is able to produce customized structures for any situation.

Most recently ATI was appointed official tent supplier to the Dubai International Boat Show, providing 10,000m2 of clear-span tenting. ATI’s competitive offering coupled with its proprietary design and build systems were key factors in the client’s decision to award the contract. Despite the size of the job, ATI was able to complete the event set up in just 10 days.
“Our specialized modular design systems and onsite technical expertise enables highly efficient assembling and dismantling of our structures. Over the past 18 years ATI has been responsible for delivering temporary and permanent structures for some of the world’s most watched international events. Our ability to deliver a high quality, customized product against tight deadlines has been a major reason for this,” said Ron Millward, Managing Director Middle East, Asia Tents Trading LLC.

ATI says its expansion to the Middle East follows increased investment by GCC governments to bring international sporting and entertainment events to the region in an effort to boost local tourism.

“The GCC is doing an excellent job of raising its international profile by bringing popular business, sporting and entertainment events to the region. In the UAE alone we now have Formula One, three PGA golf tournaments, a million dollar ATP Tour tennis tournament and the Rugby Sevens. When you add to that the various world business forums and star-studded concerts, the GCC holds promising opportunities for an event supplier like ATI,” said Millward.

In addition to supporting the hospitality and event sectors, ATI designs specialized structures for military and industrial purposes. Such projects have included military aircraft hangars and industrial warehousing.

“The advantage of large tent structures is they provide a cost-effective and flexible alternative to more permanent buildings. Given the slowdown in the construction sector, we are able to offer the market a more viable solution to support their stockpiling needs,” added Millward.
