On the occasion of the launch of her highly awaited final book Hakima’s Tale trilogy: “The Dawn of Redemption” at the Grand Millennium Dubai – Al Barsha, on June 10th Dedra L. Stevenson, will take children on a carpet ride reading them passages from the magical adventures of the brave little Phoenix Kassim. Everyone is welcome and the event is totally free. However, hurry to book your place as space is limited. The reading session will be followed by a fantastic magic show by Babyshop and a cookery session with Executive Chef of the Grand Millennium Dubai – Al Barsha. The program is filled with fun, wonders, snacks and goodies bags for kids.

Dedra said, “I’m also proud to announce the release of ‘The Hakima’s Tale: The Revenge of the Blue Jinni’ in Arabic!  This is the first of the series to be offered in Arabic language.  Books will be available at the launch and in all major bookshops throughout the region and can also be ordered online as it’s now available on Amazon.com and Barnes & Nobles.com”

Mr. Peter Mansourian, General Manager of the Grand Millennium Dubai – Al Barsha, explains, “Because of Dedra’s spellbinding writing and trademark humor, we can see kids put down their video games, turn off their computers, ignore television and read. The Hakima’s Tale reignites the love of reading. Because of her, kids are talking about books and we are proud to host this event.”

Filled with the magical and the mystical, young readers who enjoy fantasy will love The Hakima’s Tale Trilogy. All three books are being re-released with new covers and offered for the first time as a boxed set. The books bridge the gap between Western and Middle Eastern cultures. They also introduce a modern approach to Arabic folklore. This entertaining trilogy begins with The Revenge of the Blue Jinni, a story about a young Arab-American girl whose destiny is monumental: She must protect the world from the attack of the Blue Jinni!

Mr Rahul Saxena, Marketing Manager, Babyshop, says, “Reading is absolutely vital to education and children growing up in general. But maybe there are more alternatives that children want to do in their spare time these days – things like watching television and being on the Internet. Which, in moderation, is not necessarily bad but while doing so kids must not give up reading. We at Babyshop are very pleased to support today’s event because it encourages kids to discover the joy of reading as well as helps them to know more about the local culture.”

The writer, Dedra L. Stevenson, is an American born Emirati who’s been living in the UAE for 20 years with her family and continues to inspire kids and university students from all over the country on the value of writing and promoting the Emirati culture through its literature.

The Grand Millennium is brilliantly located on Sheikh Zayed Road between Mall of the Emirates and Ibn Battuta Shopping Mall adjacent to Dubai Media City and at the heart of the Greens/TECOM area.
