DP World, UAE Region has launched an initiative to increase communication between Dubai’s key trade enablers and the large trading community.
More than 100 representatives from the trade and logistics industry networked with officials from DP World, UAE Region, Dubai Customs, Dubai Trade and other government authorities at a breakfast meeting held in Jebel Ali Port today (June 7) to explore new business opportunities and increase the synergy that drives Dubai’s trade development.
DP World, UAE Region hosted the gathering. A series of such initiatives is being planned by the port operator on a regular monthly basis with the aim of bringing together port users, traders and logistics companies to network and exchange views on emerging business trends as well as explore business opportunities.
Mohammed Al Muallem, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, DP World, UAE Region, said:
“Our aim in hosting such an event is to help develop strategies designed to enhance the performance of the trading sector, which is a frontline driver of Dubai’s economy. We believe that increasing the flow of communication among the stakeholders will directly help the local supply chain sector to prudently leverage emerging market opportunities.â€
The port operator’s initiative complements the Dubai Government’s efforts to boost the performance of all economic sectors, including developing new programmes aimed at promoting investments and diversifying trading activities.
Mr Al Muallem added:
