Dubai Trade launches new digital edition of Dubai External Trade Statistics

Dubai registered a total non-oil foreign trade worth AED 754.144 billion during 2009, according to the latest edition of the Dubai External Trade Statistics, released by Dubai Trade, the innovative online service provider of Dubai World.

The widely referenced publication in DVD format presents the statistics of Dubai’s non-oil foreign trade, which constitutes 75 per cent of the UAE’s total non-oil trade volume, and provides a detailed account of how commerce fared in the region’s foremost trading hub.

The DVD was released by Mahmood Al Bastaki, Director, Dubai Trade, at a brief ceremony in the presence of David Carbajal, Economic Officer, US Consulate General, Dubai.

The digital data bank offers the entire spectrum of Dubai’s bilateral trade activities, including volumes and values of goods categorized as per international tariff classification (HS Codes), comparative summaries showcasing the evolution of the emirate’s trade, import, export and re-export data for all trading zones, and the throughput at Jebel Ali Port.

The statistical compilation in easy-to-access electronic format provides information on the origins and destinations of the goods, which enable the user to quantify, monitor and understand the patterns of trade flows, and evaluate the factors that drive Dubai’s commerce.

The raw data, objective analyses and other relevant statistics contained in the DVD are based on painstaking research and offer a highly credible source of information.
