Helping to develop future business leaders, the Emirates Aviation College hosted the 19th graduation ceremony last night under the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group.
This year the ceremony has been split over two days, to cater for the large amount of students graduating from a variety of specialised Diploma, Bachelor and MBA programmes offered by the College.
HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum said; “Each of the students honoured has worked incredibly hard to fulfill their potential and realise their dreams and I am extremely pleased to congratulate and applaud their individual achievements.
“I would also like to extend a special word of congratulations to our 34 UAE national Emirates employees graduating from the Computing Software Development programme, which was developed by the College in collaboration with Emirates Group IT. I am very proud to see such wonderful opportunities being made available to educate UAE Nationals with valuable and relevant skills for their chosen careers.â€
The glittering ceremony, attended by VIPs, Emirates’ senior management and proud family members, marked the very first time that students have graduated from the MBA in Aviation Management programme. This particular MBA was recently established in direct response to the growing demand from students wanting to specialise in Aviation Management, as the Middle East continues to strengthen its position as a global hub for aviation.
Dr. Ahmad Al Ali, Senior Vice Chancellor, Emirates Aviation College said: “With just over 2,000 students from all over the world currently enrolled at the College and a 20% student growth rate over the past 12 months, the past year has been an extremely successful academic year for us.
“We pride ourselves on being the number one aviation educational institution across the entire GCC region. Our wide range of postgraduate, academic and vocational programmes are tailored to meet the personnel industry requirements of aerospace, travel and tourism, and aviation and business management, providing the strongest of foundations, practical knowledge and education for our students.â€
The ceremony for students graduating from MBAs, Bachelor degrees and Computer Software Development programmes took place last night, with Higher Diploma and Diploma students to be honoured at another ceremony this evening.
The range of courses that students will graduate from include an MBA in Aviation Management; Bachelor degrees in Aerospace Technology, Avionics Technology, Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Management and Applied Business; Diplomas and Higher Diplomas in Aerospace Engineering, Electronics Engineering and Computing, Computing Software Development, Business Management and Tourism Management.
All programmes are accredited and recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, the Ministry of Education, Edexcel Foundation: and the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
