His Excellency Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri met with Lord James Sassoon, Commercial Secretary to Her Majesty’s Treasury, accompanied by a delegation of senior officials.
They discussed a range of topics focused on increasing UAE-UK bilateral trade by 60% from £7.5 billion to £12 billion in 2015, and strengthening the capacity of capital markets through exchange of experiences and information, including the launch of specialised training programmes.
His Excellency Al Mansouri said that the meeting follows on the various initiatives adopted by the Ministry to implement the outcomes of the UK – UAE joint Economic Committee held earlier and monitor the progress in areas related to the cooperation between the two countries.
Lord Sassoon said that the meetings were extremely valuable to strengthening business relations between the two countries and that the UK contingent of the working group would fully commit to achieving the goals within the agreed timeframe.
Al Mansouri briefed Lord Sassoon on completing an extensive report on the progress and development of joint tasks between UK and UAE. The report highlights the progress and achievements of specific items agreed during the last Joint Economic Meeting.
Several similar meetings will be held in the near future to follow-up and implement new programmes.
