Facebook’s Randi Zuckerberg to deliver GITEX keynote address

Randi Zuckerberg, official Facebook spokesperson, Director of Market Development and sister of CEO and co-founder Marker Zuckerberg will deliver a keynote address at the first ever Global Leaders Summit at this year’s GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK. As social media becomes an essential part of many companies’ marketing strategy, Ms Zuckerberg will share her insights on Facebook’s evolution and how to be part of the new media landscape.

GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK is celebrating its 30th anniversary from 17 – 21 October 2010 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Randi Zuckerberg has been instrumental in initiating and developing many of Facebook’s marketing initiatives and her speech will based around ‘How the Internet, Social Networks and Social Media Are Being Used In Government and Business’. One of her most recent addresses prior to GITEX was at a social networking session on the opening day of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

A recent survey** showed that there are 1,600,000 registered Facebook users across the UAE, that’s 36% of the population, the highest penetration in the Middle East and North Africa. Qatar is in second place with 29%.
