The conference will highlight the major opportunities in Kuwait’s developing project market, which s currently worth an estimated US$25 billion, and is being driven by the US$100 billion National 5-Year Plan.
Keynote speakers addressing the 6th Annual Kuwait Projects Conference 2010 include Eng. Abdulaziz Al Kulaib, Undersecretary, Ministry of Public Works, Kuwait, who will be presenting the mega-projects being planned and executed by the Ministry of Public Works; Shaikha Al Bahar, Chief Executive Officer, National Bank of Kuwait (NBK), who will speak about successfully delivering mega-projects in Kuwait in line with the 2035 vision; and Farouk Al Zanki, Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation who will address KPC’s achievements, current developments and future plans.
Meed Projects data reveals that 29 per cent of current planned projects are in the construction sector, 25 per cent in infrastructure, 25 per cent in oil and gas production, 19 per cent in power projects, and the remaining 4 per cent made in waste and water projects. Major projects under discussion at the conference include clean fuels projects, Failakka Island Development, Umm Al Hayman Wastewater Treatment Plant, and rail and metro projects. Eight new hospital and airport projects will also be discussed.
