‘Eid in Dubai’ festivities begin on the November 16th as Eid Al Adha celebrations kick off

‘Eid in Dubai’, organized by the Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment, is set to kick off festivities to mark Eid Al Adha with an array of entertainment activities including spectacular concerts, international shows, fireworks, and shopping deals across the city.

Being organized for the third consecutive year, ‘Eid in Dubai’ aims at promoting Dubai as a festive destination during Eid-Al-Fitr and Eid-Al-Adha celebrations through various entertainment events to highlight Dubai’s unique manner of celebrating this special occasion. It also aims at bringing together the diverse cultures and nationalities residing or visiting Dubai to celebrate this joyous occasion in festivities designed to cater to all ages.

With four Eid mall destinations, residents can look forward to an ‘Eid in Dubai’ experience in their vicinity. Various entertainment events are being held at Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Festival City, Deira City Centre, and Mirdif City Centre.

Mall of the Emirates

Mall of the Emirates will stage three musical shows in addition to solo musicians and roaming musical shows. Musicians playing on the flute, saxophone, violin, oud, and qanoon will also entertain visitors to the mall. Another main attraction at the Mall is the the ‘Brainiac Live Show! The Big Bang’ being organized from November 19 to November 23. The event is an extremely popular televised science show and features numerous science experiments.

Deira City Centre

Deira City Centre is all set to host acrobatic and comic shows in addition to roaming solo performers. The Special Roaming Group, featuring eleven acrobats, will perform three shows a day while the Clown and Comedy Theatre Show will take the stage twice a day. Visitors and shoppers will also be treated to carnivals and solo performers.

Dubai Festival City

Dubai Festival City will host the customary Eid fireworks that will light up the Dubai sky during Eid Al Adha. The Dubai Festival City waterfront will provide a picturesque location for the fireworks. The Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra, comprising of twenty young musicians, will perform a 40-minute show during the four days of Eid. Visitors will also be treated to the DINO LIVE exhibition that is currently on at the mall.

Mirdif City Centre

Culture and heritage will be the focus of Eid celebrations at Mirdif City Centre. Specially organized to present traditional events held during the Eid festivities, the Heritage Zone will incorporate all the local elements of a traditional Eid celebration through exhibits, cuisine, and music. The Heritage Zone will have tents at the Central Galleria with live demonstrations of henna designing, bread-making, and arts and crafts, in addition to a hospitality tent to welcome shoppers and families. Traditional dances and games will be organised on a daily basis between 4 and 10pm. The dabke and tannoura dances will be staged at the mall and Emarati, Moroccan, and Indian traditional bands will perform to crowds.

‘Eidyat Dubai’ Raffle

With prizes totaling AED 1.4 million to be won, the ‘Eidyat Dubai’ promotion is being organized as part of the Eid Al Adha celebrations. As part of the promotion, twenty-eight winners will each take home a cash prize of AED 50,000 over a period of four days. Deira City Centre will host the first raffle on November 16th, while Mirdif City Centre will host the second on November 17th, followed by Dubai Festival City on November 18th, and Mall of the Emirates on November 19th.

Dhiyafat Al Eid

Dhiyafat al Eid is a key part of Emarati tradition centered on welcoming guests on Eid days. According to the tradition, guests are welcomed with Arabic coffee and traditional sweets. Between November 12 and November 18, visitors arriving at terminals 1 and 3 of Dubai Airport will be welcomed with Arabic coffee and sweets. Between November 16 and November 18, visitors and shoppers at Deira City Centre, Mall of the Emirates, Mirdif City Centre, Dubai Festival City, and Jumeirah Beach Residences will be welcomed and worshippers at the various musallas across the city will be welcomed on the first day of Eid Al Adha.

‘Eid in Dubai’ Concerts

Iranian Concert

On November 18th, renowned Iranian singer Ebrahim Hamedi, popularly known as Ebi, will take the stage at the Aviation Club Tennis Stadium. Regular tickets are priced at AED 600 and VIP tickets are priced at AED 730. On November 19th, popular singers Shadmehr Aghili and Siavash Ghomeshi will entertain audiences with concerts at the Aviation Club Tennis Stadium. Regular tickets are priced at AED 600 and VIP tickets are priced at AED 730.

Indian Concert – Dhoom Dubai

On November 19th, popular Indian singers Pritam, Neeraj Shridhar and Mohit Chauhan will perform at Madinat Jumeirah Arena at 9:30pm in the Dhoom Dubai concert. Tickets are priced at AED 175 (Silver), AED 250 (Gold), AED 500 (VIP), and AED 1,000 and 2,000 for VVIP. Arabic Concert

Mohammed Abdo, renowned Arab singer, will thrill audiences in an exclusive concert at the Steps Tower – Emaar Boulevard, beside Burj Khalifa on November 18th. Tickets are priced at AED 50 and AED 100 and are available through www.ticketingco.com. The concert will start at 9:30pm.
