Ryan Lochte claimed a world record and his 17th short course medal, another record, with a sensational swim in the men’s 400m individual medley.

The US swim star’s effort in 3:55.50 beat Laszlo Cseh’s former mark of 3:57.27 and earned him a second gold of this 10th FINA World Swimming Championship (25m).
Cseh, from Hungary was actually a competitor in the race, coming sixth in 4:04.93. Second was in-form Oussama Mellouli, winner of a bronze in the men’s 200m freestyle on day one of the event and bronze went to Scott Clary of the US.
