Dubai Studio City, the region’s leading destination for the film and broadcast industry and a member of TECOM Investments’ Media Cluster, recently hosted ‘Inside the Entertainment Industry Showcase’, a grassroots initiative to invigorate the local film and entertainment community.
Organised by Miranda Davidson Studios, a leading UAE-based resource for educating and cultivating talent, the event was supported by bareface, a UAE-based talent agency.
The ‘Showcase’ featured top industry professionals who shared their journey and expertise with the audience. Special guests at the event included Nawaf Al Janahi, UAE National Film Director, Tim Smythe, CEO and Executive Producer, Filmworks, Rami Yasin, Head of Production, Imagenation, Ronnie Khalil, Comedian and Producer, and Harvey Glenn, Director of Photography.
The event saw actors trained by Miranda Davidson Studios performing short excerpts from popular movies. The actors shared their success stories and insights on the local entertainment landscape with the audience.
Dubai Studio City is being developed as an all-encompassing film and broadcast industry destination that offers enabling facilities for the entertainment community. Spread over an area of 22 million sq. ft., Dubai Studio City will feature 14 fully equipped sound stages, a 3.5 million sq. ft. backlot for outdoor shooting, commercial offices, pre-built studios, a business centre and post-production studios. The first phase of the development includes three sound stages – one 15,000 sq. ft. unit and two units of 25,000 sq. ft. each.
