New conference and tradeshow will showcase the world’s latest public safety technology and provide high-quality educational programming.

APCO Global Alliance will bring public safety technology and educational opportunities to Middle East practitioners during its first APCO Global Congress to be held June 6-9, 2011 in Dubai.

The three-day event will include presentations by Col. Zied Al-Zobi, Command Control Center director & head of Command Control Project Office, Public Security Directorate, Amman Jordan; Paul Holman, operations manager emergency management, Air Ambulance, Ambulance Victoria, Victoria Australia; and Robert LeGrande, II, former chief technology officer, Washington DC, founder of The Digital Decision. Additionally, executives from the Dubai Police, Dubai Civil Defense and Dubai Ambulance Services have been invited to present.

Local professionals who’ve participated in APCO training in the past have given it great reviews.

“After a period of three months of training with APCO, I can say it changed the course of my entire professional life. I got certified APCO international training and achieved what I dreamed of,” said Faisal Bin Al-Khonaifer, KAUST CTO/Comm Center Supervisor.

There will also be an exhibit hall where 35 companies from around the world are planning to showcase the most current technology and trends in public safety communications and security. Platinum sponsor OnStar will be joined by Harris, Motorola, PowerPhone and others on the exhibit floor.

“Public safety professionals in the Gulf region are charged with protecting more than 42 million citizens,” said Gavin Hayes, chair of the APCO Global Alliance, while explaining the organization’s decision to launch the new Congress. “Achieving the safety and security goals the region’s governments have implemented will require the support of the cutting-edge public safety communications technology and information available at APCO Global Congress.”

APCO Global Congress has received strong support of the Dubai Convention Bureau, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and the Dubai American Business Council. Registration for the event will open in February. More information can be found at www.apcoglobalcongress.org.
