The largest media conglomerate in the Middle East, Dubai-based MBC (Middle East Broadcasting Center), is set to redesign its web portals. The objective is to offer MBC’s 165 million viewers easier access to current, attractively presented information. For this purpose, a special focus will be placed on the simplification and improvement of editorial processes. Initially, CMS vendors were invited to the pitch. The contract was awarded jointly to the Swiss CMS provider Magnolia and the Berlin-based agency Aperto. Aperto is a Magnolia premium partner and is specialised in developing complex company portals in particularly user-friendly style.
MBC chose Magnolia for its ability to cover all of the demanding editorial requirements for the entire Group- operated web portals and their users. The commercial open source approach pursued by Magnolia has a big advantage which enables MBC to enjoy all the benefits of proprietary software, yet act independently and flexible in accordance with their own needs.
“Dubai is well-known for its demanding large-scale projects. Only the best companies worldwide are invited to showcase their capabilities. Bearing this in mind, we are particularly proud of having been able to partner up with the biggest media group in the Middle East as a result of our creative work. We are very much looking forward to working with MBC,†says Kai Grossmann, Member of the Executive Board at Aperto.
“We are delighted to have won over the media giant MBC, one of the most widely-known companies in the Pan Arab world, as our new customer. MBC makes considerable demands in terms of user friendliness, flexibility, scalabilty, speed and costs, all of which are met fully and perfectly by our Magnolia CMS. Thanks to its integrated Best Practice Module, Magnolia facilitates a crucial reduction of turnaround times and project-related risks, while enabling 100% customisations,†says Pascal Mangold, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Magnolia.
