UAE takes emergency relief to Libya

The Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charity and Humanitarian Establishment (MBRMCHE) has started emergency relief operations to help the victims affected by the recent incidents in Libya.

The humanitarian aid comes as per directives from President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to alleviate the sufferings of the brotherly Libyan people.

Chancellor Ibrahim Boumelha, Adviser to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for Humanitarian and Cultural Affairs and the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation stated that given the traumatic events in Libya that left thousands injured, the Establishment decided to provide urgent assistance to contribute to the alleviation of human suffering in that country. An initial amount of AED 2mn has been spent for the immediate relief, Boumelha added.

The Establishment will ensure emergency supplies of essential food and medicine.
