Tuition fees of private schools in Dubai frozen for the academic year 2011/2012

The Dubai Executive Council on Monday approved a recommendation presented by the social development committee, calling for keeping tuition fees at private schools unchanged in academic year 2011.

The move falls within the framework of the council’s strategy to provide adequate learning environment in line with Dubai Government policy for giving education a top priority.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended part of the meeting of the Dubai Executive Council under the chairmanship of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and in the presence of Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and First Deputy Chairman of the Council.

The council passed its agenda of priorities for the current year which calls for development of the government sector through management of public finance, investment in human capital and upgrading the educational and health sectors.

Agenda concerning the infrastructure and the environment sectors was also discussed. The Human Resources Department presented a report on overall indicators for 2010. The meeting also debated on results emanating from review of human resources law.
