GeekFest is the informal social gathering event intended to provide an offline social melting point for the online community. Having launched in Dubai in 2009, Geekfest is held every couple of months and has proven to be very popular with online socialisers. GeekFest Abu Dhabi will be the first GeekFest event in the capital aiming to bring together online socialisers within the city. The event is free for all to attend and will be held from 6.30pm onwards at the Lime Green building at twofour54, Abu Dhabi.

The ambience of Geekfest is very casual and laid back which makes it free flowing with no rules attached and open to all. A number of exciting activities take place during Geekfest keeping the momentum high, the adrenalin running and the attention on alert. These include GeekTalks and GameFest.

GeekTalks
GeekTalks are 15 minutes on things from an end user perspective. Speakers for the GeekTalks include Abu Dhabi-based Emirati Ali Alsaloom, the man behind Ask-Ali.com and Emirati filmmaker Nayla Al Khaja who will be speaking about Guerrilla filmmaking.

GameFest
Middle East Gamers (MEGamers.com) will be showcasing two of the most anticipated games for the year at Geekfest Abu Dhabi: Crysis 2 and Need for Speed Shift 2. These unreleased games will give visitors a chance to play two of the most eagerly awaited sequels this year before anybody else in the world.

GeekFest Abu Dhabi is being organized by Tbreak Media. The event also takes place in Beirut, Cairo, Alexandria, Amman and Damascus.
