PHD in the UAE has celebrated its global media network’s 21st anniversary by supporting the Dubai Center for Special Needs as part of the company’s global charity drive, the PHD Big Hug. Thanks to the generosity of its teams, clients and business partners, PHD made a donation of 21,000 dirhams to the center.

All the 74 offices of PHD across the world ran special activities to support charities, either through fund raising or donations in time, energy or kind. Besides the fund raising, the PHD team spent a day at the center, visiting the students and engaging with them through activities.

The funds raised in the UAE, with the kind support of organizations such as Virgin Atlantic, Grand Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, Canon, Kaya Skin Clinics, Luxottica, Abu Dhabi Media and MIS, will contribute to support the education of students from deserving families. The welfare of many of the students and the day-to-day running of the center largely depend on the generosity of the local community and corporations.

“PHD is all about finding a better way and there can be no better way to celebrate our success over the last 21 years than by giving back to those in need,” Elda Choucair, general manager of PHD Dubai, said. “We all feel very connected to these children, who need everyone’s help to realize their full potential, and the Dubai Center for Special Needs deserves our full support for the work they do every day.”

“It’s stunning to see everyone in and around the PHD network rallying together and pulling their energies to make a difference,” added Fadi Chamat, general manager of PHD Abu Dhabi. “At a global level as well as locally, we are certain that our Big Hug made a lasting contribution. I’ve always felt marketing can be a force for good and the Big Hug confirms this.”

“We are grateful for the generous donation as we remain dependent on corporations such as PHD who not only have the drive but the passion and the commitment to make a difference in the lives of individuals with special needs. PHD’s visit to the center and time spent with the students to create beautiful oil paintings have left both parties touched,” said Delhna Cama, public relations coordinator at the Dubai Center for Special Needs.

PHD would like to thank everybody who supported the PHD Big Hug, donated and helped raise funds for such a valuable cause.
