Abu Dhabi Yacht Show sails

The third Abu Dhabi Yacht Show (ADYS) is attracting huge crowds as the luxurious and exclusive three day event gets underway at the Yas Marina, Abu Dhabi from March 24. The show is featuring some of the world’s most outstanding power and sailing super yachts.

The impressive line-up of super-yachts and boats includes some of the most powerful players in the international yachting industry, like Oceanco, Luerssen, Westport, Abu Dhabi MAR, Nobiskrug, CMN Yachts, Edmiston, San Lorenzo, and Sunseeker.

The Abu Dhabi Yacht Show is modeled upon its sister show, the exclusively Superyacht event the Monaco Yacht Show. The inaugural Abu Dhabi Yacht show in March 2009 opened to an enthusiastic reception and went onto impress exhibitors, industry experts, press and visitor.

Since then the annual event is rated by experts as a first‐class business opportunity that caters to the highest industry requirements for quality, exclusivity and style. The elite show attracts the Middle East’s super-wealthy, including members of Gulf royalty and ruling families.

The prestigious exhibition is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and is sponsored by Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), with Yas Hotel as the official hospitality partner and Blancpain and HSBC Private Banking as the show’s Platinum sponsors.

This year’s yacht line-up features the 54m Benetti Moonlight; the 46m Jana from Feadship; an impressive new build 30m Gulf 95 Exp and a 30m Majesty 101 from Gulf CraftGulf CraftGulf Craft . In addition, there is a guest appearance by the 70-foot Volvo Ocean Race Sprinter, the Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing Team’s yacht used for training for its 2011-2012 Round the World Volvo Ocean Race bid.

An exciting new wave of concept yachts is being unveiled at the show. Two new design concepts by Oceanco and a new build from CMN Yachts, Panache, are among those anticipated to elicit a strong interest from visitors and yachting enthusiasts from across the region.

The 26m Navetta, part of a new series of eco-chic boats built by Filippetti Yacht and designed by Pietro Mingarelli is also expected to make a splash at ADYS 2011. Palmer Johnson would unveil a new 52m super sport yacht, in addition to showcasing several other yacht concepts.

With more than 140 international exhibitors and 7000 participants including some of the world’s highest net worth individuals expecting to take part in ADYS 2011, a truly exciting luxury weekend beckons at Yas Marina.
