After more than two-and-a-half decades on air, TV chat show queen Oprah Winfrey has announced the date of her last show. The top-rated “The Oprah Winfrey Show” will air its last original episode on May 25, reports People magazine. The 57 year-old is yet to announce who her final guests will be, but she hinted that viewers are in for a treat as the show draws to a close.
“I love this show,” Winfrey has said. “This show has been my life. And I know when it’s time to say good-bye. Twenty-five years feels right in my bones and feels right in my spirit.”
“Hard at work planning the final shows,” Winfrey tweeted March 24. “Can’t wait to share w/ u all!”
“The Oprah Winfrey Show,” which is currently airing reruns, will resume with new episodes beginning April 7.
