The National Election Committee has issued the executive booklet for the Federal National Council (FNC) elections 2011 in order to enhance general awareness among the public on the elections as well as the laws and regulations governing the electoral process.
The executive booklet contains the Supreme Council resolution and the decision of His Highness the President of the UAE concerning the method of selecting FNC representatives, in addition to the role of the National Election Committee and its sub-committees and general rules on the elections, nominations, campaign, filing of appeals and timeline for the electoral process.
“This booklet is part of NEC’s continuing efforts to increase public awareness of the various aspects related to the electoral process. It is an effective channel to inform the public on all guidelines, regulations and laws governing NEC’s mandate, nominations and the electoral process,” said His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for FNC Affairs and member of the National Election Committee.
“The booklet explains all executive instructions related to the electoral process for the benefit of voters and candidates. The booklet will be available to the public and will be distributed to government bodies and institutions in the UAE to ensure that it reaches as many citizens and officials as possible,” added Lootah.
The National Election Committee has issued executive instructions for the FNC elections 2011 under resolution No (02/02/2011) in line with article 12 of the decision of His Highness the President of the UAE. The article assigns NEC to issue the necessary electoral guidelines to implement its tasks and duties.
