Frankie Dettori was aboard the winning 4-year-old colt owned by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The race was also watched by Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Minister of Finance and Shaikha Haya bint Hussein and other dignitaries from UAE.
Sheikh Mohammed, who owns Godolphin Stable, received the trophy from Prince Philip. Queen Elizabeth II was at the races, having attended every Royal Ascot meeting since 1945.
