- To communicate over the popular social media network on Federal National Council elections
His Excellency Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs and Chairman of the National Election Committee, has joined Twitter, the social media platform under the handle name @AnwarGargash.
His Excellency Dr Gargash became the first UAE Federal Minister to officially join Twitter for communicating with UAE nationals and others interested in the UAE Federal National Council (FNC) elections to be held on September 24, 2011.
Dr Gargash, who personally manages the account, observed that Twitter is an ideal platform for directly communicating with people from all walks of the society interested in the FNC elections, especially the youth who constitute 35% of the total voters in the Electoral College in the UAE.
The National Election Committee offers direct communication channels with citizens interested in following the news on the Federal National Council elections through www.uaenec.ae, the NEC’s call centre 60056661 or fax 024041155.
