  Al Maha, A Luxury Collection Desert Resort and Spa, has made it to the Top 100 Overseas Leisure Resorts in the 2011 Condé Nast Traveller Readers Choice Awards, the only hotel from the UAE to be honored in this prestigious list.

Considered by many as the world’s most influential rating of hotel properties, these awards are based on an index of customer satisfaction with a range of hotel facilities and services scored out of a maximum of 100. This average figure is used to provide the overall satisfaction rate as a percentage.

The stunningly beautiful desert resort made it to the Top 20 in the Middle East, Africa and the Indian Ocean, a testament to the fact that Al Maha Desert Resort and Spa is truly a world-class destination, according to Arne Silvis, general manager, Al Maha Desert Resort and Spa.

Since becoming part of Starwood’s Luxury Collection, Al Maha Desert Resort and Spa, has endeavored to enhance its offering to remain exclusive but become more accessible.

The hotel’s unique portfolio of guest services and field activities has been given a boost by the enthusiasm and expertise of new team members and the addition of new training and development programs, in keeping with Starwood’s global standards.

Al Maha’s inclusion in the highly regarded Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) loyalty program has created renewed awareness of the resort and much interest has been generated as a direct result of the resort’s SPG membership. SPG points can be earned or redeemed, and the resort actively participates in all SPG promotions.

Award-winning Chef David Miras has been brought on board as Chef de Cuisine to enhance the hotel’s F&B offering and ensure that guests are taken on a culinary journey when they stay at Al Maha. In addition to adding an a la carte menu at lunch, new cuisines are also being added to the dinner menu to ensure that the guests discerning palates are satisfied and expectations exceeded.
