Abu Dhabi University’s College of Engineering and Computer Science received an award for Best Educational Institute in Engineering during the World Education Congress Asia Awards Ceremony that took place in Dubai recently.
The College was chosen after a panel of international experts and higher education professionals researched and reviewed universities from over 20 countries such as Bahrain, India, Japan, Qatar, Pakistan, Korea and Saudi Arabia and others, and awarded ADU’s College of Engineering in recognition of its dedication to excellence in education, scientific research, leadership practices and its continuous commitment to achieving global educational standards through linking its academic programs with the needs of the labor market in the field of engineering.
Commenting on the importance of receiving the award for Best Educational Institute in Engineering, Dr. Nabil Ibrahim Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University said: “This award is a testament to Abu Dhabi University’s commitment towards implementing exemplary educational standards, and confirms its status as one of the regions and the UAE’s most prestigious universities”.
Dr. Nabil pointed out that Abu Dhabi University was also awarded another prestigious honor last year, when it won the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award (SKEA) for pursuing excellence in all of its operations while achieving its primary strategic objectives and goals. The university bested a large number of industrial and developmental institutions in the country in the SKEA competition and was the first educational institute to receive the award.
Accepting the College’s award at the Asia Awards Ceremony, Dr. Aly Nazmy Dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science at ADU commended the role of the World Education Congress in encouraging and supporting the education sector, and motivating schools and higher educational institutions to accomplish excellence in teaching and apply international leadership practices. He pointed out that in addition to the 9 academic degrees that the College of Engineering and Computer Science offers its undergraduate and postgraduate students; the college plans to launch a Bachelor of Science in Aviation and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering after receiving accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
