A new analysis of home prices around the world shows that many international cities have residential property prices far above anything in the U.A.E. Even pricey Dubai ,where average price is $264 per sq.ft., it doesn’t look so expensive when compared with the likes of Paris, Oslo and Beirut.
Credit Sesame, a firm that provides online credit and debt analysis to consumers, found that the most expensive real estate market on a price-per-square-foot basis was Paris, at a whopping $3,287. The analysis included 34 cities world-wide, and the median market was—of all places—Athens at $890. The lowest was Santiago, Chile, at $160.
The company collected its data from a range of sources, including real-estate websites, brokerages, news outlets and elsewhere. Data are from 2009 to this year. Some major cities were excluded because reliable information was not available.
