Never ever before

Created to combine rare and unattainable material, luxury, innovative concept and exquisite design, Space Rings are uniqueness at hand.

SpaceWed, being the only company in the world offering space jewelry aims at providing an experience that is truly out of this world and the products which are the answer to the unique desires of the most demanding customers.

Space Rings and Wedding Rings offered by SpaceWed are made of gold which was sent in outer space in a suborbital sounding rocket on May 20, 2011. There is a limited edition of space jewelry available in 2011 named The 50th Anniversary Collection as it has been made in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of human space flight (12.04.1961) and was created as a tribute to mankind’s achievement in the field of space exploration. It has been 50 years since Yuri Gagarin became the first person to journey into outer space, permanently shattering the definition of the word impossible. The exquisite rings in this collection are truly one of a kind and have been designed uniquely for this collection only.

Spaceflight

The first flight with SpaceWed payload took place on May 20, 2011 at 7:24 (MDT) in Spaceport America in New Mexico, USA. The package containing one set of wedding rings and 2.5 ounces of gold was placed in a nose cone of the UP Aerospace SL-5 rocket. All the necessary precautions have been taken to ensure that the package would return in perfect condition.

The nearly 20-foot tall UP Aerospace SL-5 rocket reached the altitude of approximately 70 miles (130 km) above the Earth’s surface. During the rocket’s 15-minute flight, it reached speeds of 4,000 miles per hour, taking 90 seconds to lift its payload capsule for 4 minutes into space. Then the rocket body and payload separately re-entered the atmosphere and landed about 50 miles away from the launch site in the White Sands Missile Range. The payload capsule, containing a collection of space science experiments as well as the SpaceWed capsule, was recovered by helicopter and returned to the launch site about three hours after launch, where it was cheered by a crowd of over 800 people.
