  • Region’s only concrete and PMV events this year take the stage with the construction industry’s unparalleled The Big 5 Show
  • Nine thousand visitors expected to attend this year’s events

Middle East Concrete (MEC) and PMV Live – the region’s only complete events dedicated to the concrete and PMV sectors today officially opened their doors alongside The Big 5 Construction show, taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre until November 24th.

Over four jam-packed days, the events will feature some of the region’s biggest players from across the concrete and machinery sectors, including Doka, PERI, Sany, Phillip A. Tabone, NFT Cranes and Man Trucks. A total of 7,500 visitors have already pre-registered for the events, with additional attendees anticipated to arrive at the door.

Nathan Waugh, Middle East Concrete Exhibition Manager at DMG events, commented: “As Middle East Concrete is a brand new event for us, it was a challenge to estimate the likely visitor numbers. However 7,500 industry professionals have already registered and we are expecting a large volume of international participants; this is extremely encouraging news and we are thrilled about the level of interest that has so far been displayed.”

Expanding beyond the confines of the indoor event halls, MEC and PMV Live will this year take over the Trade Center outdoor Plaza to accommodate daily interactive live product demonstrations offering hands-on experience on the latest innovations to industry professionals. Visitors can also look forward to 22 free to attend seminars, a series of workshops, and a relaxing outdoor café that has been constructed out of refurbished shipping containers. Not only this, but from 4pm until show close, shisha will be served in the Plaza area- a perfect way to watch the sun set.

Waugh explained, “Visitors can look forward to an exceptional lineup of offerings at this year’s show. Our live product demos – exclusive to MEC and PMV Live – add considerable value to our events, and we anticipate a great deal of interest in these daily demonstrations. Our free to attend seminars are another exciting aspect of this year’s show; taking MEC and PMV Live beyond the realm of the traditional trade exhibition, these workshops will facilitate hands-on learning, professional development, and networking opportunities for our visitors.”

“With a total spend of US$452 billion set to take place across the GCC over the next decade, and with 80 per cent of that total focused in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, MEC and PMV Live are exceptionally well positioned to respond to an increasing demand for quality products, services and solutions across both industries. For this reason, we anticipate a hugely successful event and look forward an exciting four days ahead,” explained Waugh.

Middle East Concrete is a one-stop shop covering everything from raw materials and logistics to precast products/ training and certification in the industry. PMV Live is a brand new event concept which offers a unique mix of products, technology, machinery and live demonstrations for anyone involved in the Plant, Machinery and Vehicles sector. The shows run from today until Thursday November 24th in Sheikh Saeed Halls and the Plaza at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
