Next Thursday, 1 December 2011, will be a public holiday for all schools in the UAE, the Ministry of Education has announced, according to the official news agency WAM.
All schools will open doors next Sunday, 4 December, 2011, according to a circular by Humaid Al Qattami, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.
The holiday to mark the new Islamic New Hijri year 1433 was moved to Thursday, as it coincides with the 40th UAE National Day holiday which is on 2 and 3 December, 2011, according to the circular.
